I need lots of people on my layout, particularly hard hat workers for the shops, industries, etc. Can anyone suggest a good source for them please?

    Hi Alan,

Apart from Preiser, I don't know of any good figures range, at least in N-scale.
There is Merten, which has been bought by Preiser, but the quality, as the price, is a bit below the latters.Maybe good for background scenes. If you need a lot of people,I suggest you look at their unpainted figures line. These are packaged in bunch of 100 figs, in a variety of poses, and are far cheaper than the painted ones.
You should be able to find the helmeted workers you need.
If you experience difficulty to find Preiser stuff in U.K, just buy a catalog from a continental dealer and order what you need by mail (this stuff is light and small, so shipping cost should be fair, particularly with the current Euro value...)or go to Walthers site and search for Preiser line.
They have nice pics posted for every item.
But prices and availability may be worse than in Europe.

    Hope this help,
    Marc

Thanks Marc, I never thought of looking in my Walthers catalogue [IMG]

I have used the excellent Preiser figures on my previous HO scale Swiss and Belgian layouts, but wondered if there were any American made figures for US ones.

People are very important in bringing a layout to life, as very well demonstrated by Paul Templar.

There is a company who sells a 100 unpainted figure pack or something like that, but I can't remember who it is right now.
