    Ken,
I didn't get any pics of the gon, it was rolling on by pretty fast. It was really beat up, you could just make out the Milw. hearld, and there was a hole where the number used to be. I will post pic's of the model when I get finished. Here's a pic of my S12 Baldwin fueling up

[IMG] Do you have a track plan sketched for the Tunnel City scene? Or just freelancing it?

speaking of my modeling efforts..I just found a bound 1975 volume of Model Railroader..all 12 issues..I was born in '75..and there seems to be something in almost every issue regarding the Hiawatha...even a picture of an old storage shed somewhere in southern Wisconsin..which from what I have turned up..no longer exists...if anyone needs anything from that year, let me know

ok..I should have put this in under an actual modeling topic..so you'll be seeing it again

and would someone please tell me how the cost of a brass loco increased from $194 in 1975 to over $1,100 today?..and don't you dare say inflation....I'll stick a pin in that one..LoL

    Ken,
The section for Tunnel city is 2' by 3'. Basicly the mountain, two tunnels, two tracks, and one of each station with some back ground buildings. I have pic's of the stations coming from John at Depots by John. I'll have to scratch build them. There were no sidings in Tunnel City in the 50's just the Milw. track and the C&nw track. The Northwestern tunnel hadn't colapsed yet so I will have to bore both through. The C&NW tunnel and track will be just for looks, nothing running on them!

Just having that dummy C&NW track, will add a lot of depth and "flavor' to the scene.

Well I figure it was there so it has to be there. I have a C&NW steamer and some rolling stock that I will sit on the track by the station or maybe coming out of the tunnel. I also have a F7 and GP7 so I can trade off. When I start building the benchwork I will start a new thread with a play by play, and you can watch the progress!!

Sounds great to me! Might even help get me inspired enough to work more on finishing my drywalling. So that some day there will start a layout....

You are not alone!!! But what comes after, will hopefully be a mini-Milw empire! So, knowing that will be the result, helps. Somewhat.....

Bill, thanks for the nice comments, I will be starting a new Tunnel City post here shortly.

Kurt, I thought about putting those on there too, now I know where to get them from. Thanks

    Andy-

I bought the Sunrise spark arrestors for my N scale Milw SW1200.

But I believe there is also another firm making them in HO. Can't think of who right now....
