Is there a reason that some posting always start out with the original posting no matter how many pages there are and when it originally started? And then there's some postings tops that will get covered and have to be moved down to read them? Just curious. I can get around this.
Seems to me the system is designed to take you to the first post you haven't read yet. But sometimes it has a little difficulty, especially in those threads that are chock full of pictures it has to load for you, and then it forgets where you were and dumps you at the top of the page.
There is a little brown button at top left of the topic and also again at the bottom left: "Go to First Unread".
Yes perhaps they have a lot of pictures. I'm check next time. I have used 'Go to First Unread' if it's there. It's not always there so I click on the highest page number and go down from there.
My experience has been that forums (not just this one) sometimes load slowly, often if they are data heavy (have lots of pictures) as mentioned. They often... eventually... take you to the most recent post but only after they finish loading the page. Sometimes that takes a while, and sometimes it takes so long that it "forgets" to do so, or I get frustrated waiting. Slow loading can be due to a data heavy page, but also to slow servers (anywhere along the line) slow internet, poor wifi reception, or weak cell signals. Sent from my SM-A716U using Tapatalk
That does make some scenes. My cable is rated at 100mps minimum but, checks at 25mps. And those postings doing this get loaded with a lot of comments. Oh well I'll just continue blaming it on the perfect Windows 10. That's why 11 is here and already upgraded.
Heck, if I enter a thread in which I have never been, I get shoved to the bottom. I just ignore all that stuff. All the popup stuff, these days (not just here_, is annoying, too. I really don't need a popup to tell me where I left off in a thread, for instance. Doug
