I have been trying to convert Marklin 88370 locomotives to DCC using the Digitrax DZ123MK1 board. In September 2013, I read the article in Raildig (http://www.raildig.com/introduction/digitrax-z-scale-dcc-decoders/) about fitting Digitrax boards to Marklin locomotives and decided to give it a try. At that time, I purchased a Digitrax DZ123MK1 board, a Digitraz Zephyr Command Station, and, as recommended, the Digitrax UP6Z Voltage Reducer. As I am based in the UK, my locomotives are Marklin, and the one locomotive that I owned which the board fitted was the Marklin 88370. This initial attempt was successful and I was able to run this locomotive on a simple figure 8 test track. Recently, I was able to purchase a couple more 88370 locomotives and some more boards. Now here is the problem. If I put the new boards in my first locomotive then the combination works. However, when I subsequently put the board in a recently purchased locomotive, then it does not work. The lights work and there is a whirring sound but no movement. If I put the original analog (DC) light board back into the locomotive and connect it do a DC power supply the locomotive runs without problem. Has any had a similar problem, and did they find a solution? Rob Pearce (aka ViperBugloss)
