I just received 2 of Life Like's GP-20s. On both loco's, I noticed that the rear of the locomotive sits noticeably higher than the front. At first I thought I was imagining this, but then I used a height gauge to check. The front coupler is at the exact correct height. The rear coupler is too high. The units appear to be sloping downhill from rear to front. Has anyone else found this to be the case with their locos? What can I do to correct this? They run very nicely, I'd really like to work out this problem.
I have several GP20's and have not had any problem with mine. You might want to check that the shell is sitting on the chassis correctly and it is clipped on the tab. Here are a couple of pics of mine
I have quite a few of these. Watch for the shell being pushed down too far one end. This can happen in transit. As Paul has alluded to, there are indents in the shell and matching nubs on the chassis which sets the body in position and on top of the chassis is two raised bars. The body can be pushed down one either end and rocks against either of these bars so the shell indent goes past the nub. Gently hold the loco by the tank and move the shell aroind until you feel the indents engage the nubs - the body should now be level. Gary.
