I went to my local hobby shop today to ask about the new unit. "oversubscribed, we ordered nine for our customers and 3 for sale, we got 3, period." What a mess. You would think a manufacturer would say well I've got 3,000 orders so why don't I make 3,001 no Proto says oh, ok we'll make 500. DUH . ------------------ When in doubt, empty your magazine.
i wont hold my breath on getting one then ------------------ Matthew wheres all the C636's???? stickymonk.com Matts Photo gallery
WOW Maby my local store is either better or luckier. They had 12 of them left over AFTER they had filled their preorders. I was hoping that this loco was going to have a bigger run than the Y3. ------------------ Its only Money !!
Now if the fine folks would take that technology and backdate to say SOMETHING prior to 1900, I'd be happier than 10,000 fleas on a fresh camel !! Just took delivery of my Proto 0-8-0 today, Soundtrax decoder installed. It is a beauty. If I didn't know it was plastic I would swear it was brass. Put Spectrum and Genesis to shame! Very slick, a six prong hard mounted plug on the loco to the tender. Puts them close together without lots of wires showing. The pipes hanging from the loco are soft plastic and they bend so if you handle the loco they won't break. The transmission is small so there is lots of "air" between the boiler and the frame. The front coupler is operational not a dummy. It "crawled" right out of the box no fits or jumps. I havn't tested it for pulling power but it looks reallllll gooooood. ------------------ When in doubt, empty your magazine. Member #33
