    Here is a New York Central caboose, photo from the Harold K. Vollrath collection, taken in Mattoon, Ill, 1953. A little different from the ones you guys have put up lately. [​IMG]

    Fitz,This is a Big 4 cab and was used all over the B4.I have a scale drawing of this and the " long barrel
    cab used on the B4 posted on rr of
    Madison County.They were used until
    early Penn Central. LEW

    That's a very interesting caboose. Look at the tops of the ladder ends. Notice the unique loops? Just on account of that, I'll have to model it. :D

    Pray59,On my drawings are also the
    demensions.On the cupola there are two widths,one as per my drawing and
    one with the wide cupola as the photo
    9' 11". The long barrel's cupola has
    the 9' 11" width.Yes the ladder ends
    were that shape on all of the center cupola cabs. LEW

    I like the combination of double hung windows, and tall cupola. Looks neat!
