:tb-biggrin:It's being used on a ranch where i worked off and on the past couple of years. The rancher said that tha NP moved it, and another beside it, up to the ranch for him in the 50's when he bought them. That's 35 miles out of town on rough roads today! I can't quite make out the number, but the lettering is there in places. There are quite a few around here, and other old wooden passenger cars too.
I'm posting from my phone, so I can't share it, but the owners of Camp 18 restaurant on US26 18 miles east of US101 have a collection of pacNW rail equipment including a wooden NP box car with the logo visible. Needless to say it's sitting in the open along the coast range in Oregon, so it ain't in good condition
Wow. These days it's strictly as is, where is. Moving them for the buyer was a great bonus. Back then RRing was very different.
Got some pics of an old wooden passenger coach, NP, sitting at Hodges. Will put them up this coming weekend if anyone is interested.
We've been by US 26 many times and never knew about the Camp 18 museum. Need to stop in there next time through. Thanks for the information. Please do.
