    Hello John Whitby:

I could not help but notice your interest in Swiss modeling and so I figured you may know the answer to this. In what decade came each of the following Loks?

    Re 4/4 I
    Re 4/4 II
    Re 6/6
    Ae 6/6

I am having a discussion with a friend of mine over this and we are not sure. I am pretty sure the Ae 6/6 is the oldest of the bunch and it arrived in the 1930's but perhaps you will have something to add to this.

As you can tell from my screen name my expertise is more in Meter Gauge equipment so any answers you can provide will help me greatly. I tried to research this out on the web but could not find the answers I needed.

Apologies to the trainboard.com N-Scale forum moderators as I know this post does not directly relate the N-Scale but Mr. Whitby may have these answers and I know he frequents this forum.

    Hello "swissrhb"
The Re4/4 1's are actually the oldest locos mentioned being built between 1946 and 1951 in two batches.
The first 2 Ae6/6's were built 1952-3 with the remaining locos following between 1955 and 1966 in two batches.
Class Re4/4 11 were built between 1964 and 1985 in various batches with slight detail differences and were the largest class of SBB locos in terms of numbers.
The first 4 Re6/6 locos were introduced in 1972 with the rest of the class following between 1975 and 1980.
This information is taken from official SBB literature.
    Hope it helps.
    Best wishes,
    John.
