Went to your web site, nice benchwork on your extension. Can you tell me a little about it. What size of dimensional lumber are you using? How is your roadbed constructed? Type/brand of ballast are you using?

Inquiring minds would like to know!

    Thanks

    Kestutis,

The benchwork on my layout extension is made of 2 inch by 1 inch timber (lumber), the main supports are 3 inch by 2 inch. The benchwork is built on an L girder design with riser used for grades. The subroadbed is MDF approx 9 mm (not sure of metric measurement). The track is layed on cork which I have found gives a realistic profile for ballasting.
The ballast I have used is a local supplier in Sydney. It is actual ballast dust from quarries, I will find the website and post it here later. If you have any other question feel free to ask.

    Hi Alan,
Got the kits built painted and decaled, built several custom loco's, detailed and custom painted, I need to get back on building my layout. Got the L girder frame up an that about it. One of these days I will get around to revising my track plan and finish the thing. [IMG]
