    Hi all,
I recently bought this WP boxcar on ebay, but started wondering if it's based on a real car... I searched on Internet and found no reference of those light orange WP cars.

    Thanks Chris,

it looks there's no WP boxcar with the black square logo like the one in the model picture, though. Perhaps I can repaint it and decal it like this:

Yes, it's real, as WP was looking for a new paint scheme. This is one of a kind (maybe another possibly). They also did a solid blue car. There are 4 model cars in the original set, and you have one of them.

    BRIGHT car! :tb-biggrin:

Denny, There was at least one dark boxcar red car painted with the WP herald. I think I read somewhere that there were a series of a couple of hundred, painted in that scheme. Don't know about a blue version or an orange version. But I have personally seen a couple of the boxcar red cars (or if there were only single car I saw it a couple of times) - however I don't have photographic proof. The first car I saw was in the early 1980's.

In order of year from 1916-

    XM 26001-26125
    XM 20201-20550
    XM 20551-20800
    XM 20821-21400
    XM 35001-35090
    XML 3819-3837
    XLI 60401-60440

Lots and lots of mineral red with the square Feather River logo. Sadly enough, the return of a classic logo almost always means the railroad is up for sale. :tb-hissyfit:

Thanks for info, guys. I already opted for converting the orange car into this one:
