I'm currently modeling a CB&Q passenger train using two E8/9 "A" units. I went looking for a "B" unit and was ubable to find one. I found a website that listed CB&Qs roster of locomotives and did not see a "B" listed. Can any of you Burlington buffs out there confirm whether or not they used the E8/9 "B"s. Thanks, Don (Sorry I just realized this should probably have been posted in the BN forum down below.) [ 26 November 2001: Message edited by: Don Brent ]</p>
Don, The CBQ did not have any E8 or E9 Bs. The only Bs they ever owned were E5s. The reason for this is they felt that B-units were hard to manuver when needed to turn the units at the end of the run. This was the reason but they could have used A-B-A sets. Why they didn't I have no idea, I just know about their thinking. E-Mail me if you have any further questions on the Q. Take care.
