Once again, good work, guys. If I could still get around I might have had one to contribute of the newly restored 2-4-4-2 "Skookum" which ran at the Oregon Coast scenic this week along with two other steamers. Pete Lerro had a photo special there.

    Jim-

Is the Skookum actually now operational? Last I had heard she was having a few mechanical bugs.

Am quite familiar with her days in storage, (so many sad separated pieces), in western Taxington. I well recall her rusting frame and running gear. The tender body rusting on the wet ground. So glad to see she's rescued and restored!

Skookum was fired up but bent an eccentric rod, photos of which appeared on the net and were then removed. She WILL be operational. What that crew at the OCSR has done is to be commended.
