Hi everyone, my contribution to this contest is a little "exotic" for the US railfans. The picture was taken on the northern side of Saint Gotthard Pass in Central Switzerland. We have here on a busy day up to 150 trains in a 24 hours period. The train on the pic carries 17 trucks with the drivers in the sleeping car behind the second locomotive.

Great spot. That track ballast looks pristine. Could be in your garden [IMG].

Railfan, what a great picture!! I have only briefly looked at this route, just north of the tunnel, Goschenen, but was not lucky enough to see a 'rollende landstrasse' train. My German is rusty, forgive me if I got that wrong!! We used to run one on one of our club HO layouts some time ago, Fleischmann, I think.

Almost anywhere in Switzerland is a great place to watch trains, I like the Lotchberg route.

Patrick, of course the ballst is good - it is Switzerland [IMG]

Great location. Excellent lighting and the scenery is just great. Colorful locomotives and lots of trains. Great combination.
