Hi everyone, my contribution to this contest is a little "exotic" for the US railfans. The picture was taken on the northern side of Saint Gotthard Pass in Central Switzerland. We have here on a busy day up to 150 trains in a 24 hours period. The train on the pic carries 17 trucks with the drivers in the sleeping car behind the second locomotive. <IMG SRC =http://chat.trainorders.com/slides/RE460.jpg>

Great spot. That track ballast looks pristine. Could be in your garden . ------------------ Residing in BNSF's St. Croix Subdivision near Trempealeau, WI
Railfan, what a great picture!! I have only briefly looked at this route, just north of the tunnel, Goschenen, but was not lucky enough to see a 'rollende landstrasse' train. My German is rusty, forgive me if I got that wrong!! We used to run one on one of our club HO layouts some time ago, Fleischmann, I think. Almost anywhere in Switzerland is a great place to watch trains, I like the Lotchberg route. Patrick, of course the ballst is good - it is Switzerland ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com
