that E8 in the previous pic was taken in minerva, ohio on ohi rail. minerva is only like 20 minutes south of alliance. As i was looking over my collection i realized that i did a lot more video of trains then taking pictures. it was neat to see this mow train being set off in the yard at alliance.

    Railfanning Fostoria, Ohio

Fostoria, OH otherwise known as the iron triangle. This is because three railroads crossover each other and on a map it looks like a triangle. all three mainlines are double track. there are 2 csx mainlines (ex b&o and ex c&o) and an ex nkp now ns. there is also an active interlocking tower called F tower.

    Leetonia, Ohio

This pics are from Leetonia, OH which is about ten miles east of Alliance, OH. This is the NS Fort Wayne Line. The tower used to guard the crossing of an Erie Lackawanna branch line that has been abandoned.

    East Liverpool, OH

These pics were taken in East Liverpool, OH which is about 45 miles south of Alliance on the Cleveland Line. The railroad refers to trains as eastbounds and westbounds since the cleveland line connects cleveland, ohio to pittsburg, pa. if you look on a map the line runs in a south north direction for most of way. This pic was taken from the city boat marina and shows a local train working an industry. i love getting shots of conrail power.

    Cresson, PA

This town is located in between Cassandra, PA and Gallitzin, PA. They have a small park for railfans and they have an elevated platform to watch and photo trains. Cresson also has a loco service facility for Helper loco's and RJ Corman has 2 branch lines coming into town. Ive never been lucky enough to see RJ here. There is also a Bed and breakfast in town that is railroad themed. they have a good view of the tracks.

Marion has the junction of 2 csx lines and the ns . all of which are double track and they all crossover on diamonds all very close to one another. the pics show are a train traveling on the ns and the last pic is on the csx ex erie industrial park on the east side of town. that is a csx caboose painted up in the erie scheme. i hear the conductor on that job is some old head from the conrail and erie lackwanna days.

    NS Dayton District

The Dayton District is ex Big 4, ex NYC, ex CR, now NS and it connects cincinnati to dayton to columbus, ohio. In Conrail days it was referred to as the Cincinnati Line. I took these about a year ago from West Chester, OH to Sharon Yard. I forget what this type of inspection car is called maybe someone could help me out?

    Fostoria, OH

These shot were taken a couple of weeks ago when the town was having their Rail Fest. A lot of railfans came out to see this. Some railfan even had his truck painted up in conrail. There is a shot of an old NYC interlocking tower , which is significant being that it was the first location in the entire world to have a ctc board. the old station is ex NYC and there is a group that is going to have it saved.

In Bellevue NS has a big classification yard with a roundhouse and turntable. Im not from around here so i wasnt able to get pics of these. I did get pics of the Mad River and Nickel Plate Railroad Museum. The last pic is a Wheeling and Lake Erie train waiting to go into the yard.

    Re: Bellevue, OH

The Bellevue yard also has a hump. Bellevue is general is great NS hot spot...5 different NS lines and 1 W&LE line enter town and there's also the massive yard. Though, if you prefer fast moving trains, Bellevue is not for you :)

And of course, there's the museum that you posted pictures of. It's open in the summer from 1-4 and is full of all kinds of interesting displays, most of which are inside the rolling stock.

The roundhouse, I read somewhere is supposed to have been the last one constructed in the US. It along with the turntable are only used by MofW forces anymore. Down near the enging facility there is a wye for turning power.

speaking of wyes, there's one on the south side of Bellevue where the Fostoria and Columbus tracks meet. W&LE uses that to turn around so they can get from their line that comes into Bellevue from the east to the NS line that goes out of Bellevue to the west (on which they have trackage rights to Toledo). It's interesting to watch them back up a train to turn it around, especially if it's a longer one
