I'm trying to upload pictures to Railimages. The first screen I select all the files I want to upload. I click "upload/submit." The download indicator bar (at the bottom of the screen) goes all the way accross, then it returns me to the initial screen to select to upload files.

What's the problem? I'm a member and have plenty of upload space. I've never had this happen before.

    Filesize Limit

I've seen this issue before and it seems to always tie back to files that are over the limit of 2MB. Check that no file is that large that you are trying to upload. Let us know if this is the issue.

And that is most likely the issue.

I have experienced the same problem. If I upload only 1 picture at a time, the picture will upload properly.

All i can do is 6. Bummer since it's possible to do 10. I guess I could do 10 if I wanted to change the quality/size of my pictures. That's not happening!!

Oh Well, no biggy, I'll just keep shootin' & postin'

I will do some tests soon with files in the 100K range and see how many I can upload at the sametime. I have do a lot more than 4 before but will check that this is still true.

    No problems found.

I just uploaded 10 images (all at the same time) that were about 200K in size each without any problems. These images were 1152x864 which is way to large for general posting to forums like this. Our RI software automatically resized them deeper to about 706x530 which reduced their size to under 100K.

I think the key here is resize your images to a size between 100K and 200K first then things run very smooth.

You would be surprised how good your images will look at a smaller size without touching quality. This image is yours and is 706x530 (51.2K) after it was uploaded and compressed by the RI software. This is why if you just resize them to under 200K before they are uploaded you can truly upload 10 at a time and have some great photos online to share.

    Hey,
The same thing was happening to me. I just got my computer back & downloaded the"HTRK" or whatever its called. Followed the directions. 1 1/2 hrs & 450+ files copied,I canceled the download. I have only 340 pictures. This new Railimages is tough for a computer challenged person like me.
Where's the little guy banging his head against the brickwall when you need him?:confused2: :worried:

Well, I think I'm having the same problems that you guys are running into. I've got a 3.1Mp camara which I can use to take so-so pictures... or a better 6.0Mp camara which takes better pictures. The 3.1Mp camara has no problems uploading into RailImages... but... the 6.0Mp camara photos won't upload. I think that the file size of each picture was over 4.3M... I'll have to look at them again though. Apparently... RailImages regurgitated them because they were to big to swallow :). So... I hate to ask... how do I re-size these pictures to a size manageable for an upload to RailImages? I hope I don't have to re-take the shots. BTW... the camara is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX3.

    no head banging needed

Go get it^^ and once you learn how to use it you wont want any other software. It took me longer to down load and setup the program then it took me to learn how to use it. I resized, lightened, sharpened all the photos in one album on my home computer in a mater of mins and then they uploaded just fine to railimages. Thanks again for pointing me to this software.
    AND ITS FREE.......

That was the one thing I didn't learn yet. :embarassed: You will have to do a class on croping.
