Now you want to go train watching in the “Bad” part of town, where you’re going need a tuff guy, or gal, to watch your back and keep the thugs, riffraff and maybe even some overzealous law enforcement types at bay while you get that last photo.

So. “Who you going to call?”

Well if you’re in Boston, it’s easy. Two of the toughest guys in the business, Spencer and Hawk. Nobody is going to bother you with them at your side.

Chicago? So many railroads to choose from and scattered all over the place. You’ll need someone who knows their way around. Victoria Iphigenia Warshawski. V. I. for short. Might not be the “Bruisers” Spencer and Hawk are, but she knows where all the bodies are buried and what skeletons are in who’s closet so nobody wants to p($#@ her off.

Seattle? BNSF’s waterfront operations? J. P. Beaumont’s your man. Homicide badge and if you do need a fast “Getaway” a “Guard Red” Porsche will do it in style.

Want some photos of Union Pacific in the wide open spaces of New Mexico? Better get in touch with Joe Leaphorn or Jim Chee.

So, what’s your favorite “Big City” or “Ruff Country” RR. And “Who you going to call?”

In Boston, "The Friends of Eddie Coyle." Any "friend" will do. The late George Higgins was a great mentor to me.

In Albuquerque, I think the local boxer Johnny Tapia. He knows the ropes. Or Gov. Richardson himself (with his security guard). Richardson would make a great nose guard, while I'd be (in this fantasy) an inside linebacker protecting his backside. Ever notice his resemblance to a bulldog?

Of course, I'd want 'The Terminator" at my side at all times, especially to protect the kindergarteners who, by some ploy of plot, happen to be there while I railfan.

    And so on.

This might be better off in another forum here on Trainboard. I know, it's really hard to navigate between forums, but, once you get the hang of it, you'll get responses from a wider range of modelers.

    Who?

I've been filming in N.M. since I was 16 and never needed anybody to watch my back.

That is unless walking westbound in Abo (pronounced AhhBo) Canyon where the westbound trains cannot be heard till they are on top of you. Trust me I had a friend caught on the first bridge(125' down). He got an excellent shot and laid down on the walkway, but, has never been the same.
