You know the saying, "Been there, done that, got the tee shirt," well, I just had to share what amounts to about 1/5 of my collection of tee shirts.
Nice collection of t-shirts, Jim. You may have an idea for a thread for showing off our railroad-related wear. And I never thought I'd say this - that's one classy beer can.
I have no idea at all hat locomotive it is or where it was taken. Stumbled across the photo and really thought it was cool.
"Rotten Bananas" at Santa Fe Junction in Kansas City. These GP39-2s are in a dark paint scheme as opposed to the Kansas City Terminal GP35Rs that are in an all yellow scheme. Those are called Bananas of course.
The local Kansas City railfan crowd that I was running with told me those. Don't know how wide spread they are but I googled Bananas and came up with these. http://www.railpictures.net/photo/444585/
A few weeks ago while I was riding Amtrak #2 into Houston via the detour over the BNSF, I spied an old Santa Fe waycar (caboose) that was still in service. It was in a train parked on an industrial siding off Mykawa Road in south Houston. I believe it is 999791. No graffiti.
Finally fond a good photo of the first GP-9 I rewired and upgraded back in Spring of 92. It had it's high nose chopped and a class 1 overhaul and electrical rewire with some upgrades. Fun!
