Whoa, nice New Haven pic!!
Love these juice jacks!
From 11/19/1988 at Danbury, CT, EMD FL-9 2006 with Hancock air whistle.
Always loved the New Haven's triangular catenary. Taken at Greenwich, CT same day as above picture.
That triangular catenary is neat! It's a little like the BC Rail Tumbler Ridge electrification catenary. I wish I could have seen that in action...
That must've been weird to see a diesel coming, but hearing a whistle!!
Be still my heart... ain't she purdy!!!
Should have taken a little bit off the steam generator and put it through a real steam whistle!
Sorry for the delay in replying, I never got my computer out for email at Springfield. The E44 was actually in Amtrak livery when donated to the Museum.
DPU shoves a long cut of autoracks west as a V-train leaves Minot's old GN yard.
Factory-fresh PRR F-units:
Ooooh... Those are pretty.
From 03/10/1985 at Montgomery, AL.
I know that it is not, but that sure seems to approach a shade of chocolate.
I think the color is called Dark Green Locomotive Enamel (DGLE)? In essence, a drum of black paint with a pint of green mixed in...
Yep, that's it. aka, Brunswick Green.
Interesting. Painted in Pennsy freight color with a passenger pilot.
What is behind that trailing covered wagon???
You have a good eye Doug, very interesting. The PRR did own dual service FP-7s, but @Point353's 9690 wasn't one of them.
I need to look at these pictures more closely! Looks like DL-109s. The SOU owned only 3 A Units and 3 B Units.
