Well in my last post the topic was loss of interest and well with all the suggestions and help from the great people on this board my interest is once again re-newed and progress has commenced. I re-thought my track plan and decided against cutting the layout up and making it smaller. I made a good adjustment where the intermodel yard was, moving it out of the "pit" it was in and bringing it along side the yard near the edge of the layout. It isn't quite as big or long (three tracks as apposed to four) but I think it works so much better and when the time comes to scenic the area it will go a whole lot smoother. I had a buddy of mine stop by the other day and we worked it out and talked about a lot of scenic ideas and operations. We hooked up a transformer and ran a Kato SD90 Mac all around pulling various length cars to test the curves and etc. It all seemed to work out ok. Damn it was good to actually see a train or part of one running at last on this layout. So with that I'm back "on track" and should be progressing more each and every week if all goes well. I want to thank everyone who posted on the other post and gave me encouragement and ideas. I'll get some new pictures up hopefully this week showing the "new" intermodel yard and my progress. Thanks once again, you guys are awesome !
Bill: It's great to hear that you've been re-energized.. N scale railroading is fun..... Stay cool and run steam....
Great to hear you are moving along. And once again having fun. This is an excellent aspect of the hobby. That being how you can step away for a while. Then come back, and after dusting it off, pick right up and go. I note that you've had some fresh ideas. For me, the same has been true. I've had "cool" periods. And find that upon coming back into the layout room, I see new possibilities. Looking forward to the pictures! Boxcab E50
Bill Glad to hear you're back in the hobby. The layout you had was nice. And I agree this board is great and very informative.
