Lots of photos were taken of 4449 last weekend. This is just one of many which I consider to be outstanding, taken by Ted Curphey (Funnelfan) and used with his permission. What do you think?
I fully agree. This picture is one that make me feel I am there. Or, to put it another way, it invites me in. Great find.
The location is the south bridge of "twin bridges" in the Deschutes River Canyon, about 15 miles north of Maupin, Oregon. A very scenic place indeed. That entire trip was a wonder, first the Columbia River gorge, then the Deschutes Canyon. If you like Ted's photography, go visit TrainOrders and look in the photo gallery. He has an incredible ability to compose RR photos and get the scenery of the surroundings.
