    Hi,

This will be my first thread in this forum, and hopefully one of many!

I have the Red Märkling Santa Fe F7 A-unit but I am looking for a B-unit to go with it, an unpowered is fine.
All i can find is the blue one.
Dose any one know if the Red ones where sold seperatley and if so, what is the Märklin item number?

    Best regards!

    Henrik

Henrik, welcome to Trainboard! Marklin never released the ATSF B units separately. The ATSF F7 A were available for many years (1985 on). In 2003, Marklin released an ATSF FT A and B set. The set is item 88606.

You won't be able to find a separate B unit. The Marklin A-B and A-B-A sets were permanently connected with drawbars. All A units were powered, no B units were.
    The A-B-A were great pullers.

Thanks for the answers, I was starting to suspect what you just confirmed because I couldn't find any.
In the märklin catalog iphone app, verry handy :), i saw that they released a new version of the ASTF F7 A-B-A, the yellow Warbonnet this time.

Looks nice, im a big fan of the F7.

    Best Regards!

    Henrik,
If you don't mind switching brands, MTL made the red F7B about 6 years ago: #98012070 (old #17007). They made it with Marklin couplers. I haven't compared it to the Marklin F7A to see how close it matches.
