When I was in my tool box to night I came across some reflective tape. I had the extra reflective tape from the two carbon fiber helmets I had put tape on, so I could be seen at night riding my snowmobile. Though to my self, I could use it on a locomotive. Checked to see if the tape was thin and it was. Came in side when on the web to the Conrail Cyclopedia. Saw a picture of a # 9344 SW 1200. So took my Life-Like Conrail SW to the paint shop. Cut the tape in small strips with a X-ACTO # 16 and a straight edge, 2 to 3 inches in width in N Scale. Put the tape under the walk ways and on the front and back pilots. It Came out good and looks cool in the light then I turn out the lights and got a flash light and shined the light for 15 feet Wow that looks cool. Got the Tape a Wal-mart. The tape reflective white and come in a 36" role I think. Just thought I'd share it with U guys to try.

This is interesting, lately I've been looking at reflective tape on 1:1 cars and locos, and thinking about adding that detail to models. Like anything else, some stripes are applied straight, and others look like they were just slapped on at the end of someone's shift.

    Thanks for the info.
