Coming back from Nebraska after my aunt's funeral, and dropping off my sister at her home in Miami, OK, I swung by the Afton Sub mainline of the BNSF (ex-Frisco) and found this on a siding: A Burro self-propelled crane, with BN reporting marks but a Frisco coonskin stenciled on its side. And next to it, this gon: Both Frisco relics, plus the crane you see to the right, were on the Miami Co-Op lead. Just behind all this is the former Kansas, Oklahoma & Gulf right-of-way, and a few blocks north is the Miami Branch, a remnant of the former Northeastern Oklahoma Ry. which was merged into Frisco in 1964.
Nice find! I just got back from Frisco country (Tulsa) and didn't see anything Frisco unfortunately. I think next time I'm out there visiting I'll have to set up an itinerary of places to check out so I can get my fix!! -Mike
