    Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how to remove the shell on the N scale version of Henry from the Thomas & Friends line made by Tomix? I looked on the internet, but haven't been able to find anything. Thanks.

I don't have a Henry, but on the smaller Thomas locos, the shell simply snaps in place. If you flip them over, you can see the little tabs that lock the shell on. Spread the shell and the chassis should slide out. Works on Thomas and James anyway.........

I can tell you how to get Henry apart, but not how to get him back together again! Seriously, he can be a real pain. To take the shell off: The cab is a separate piece that snaps into the main shell. The cab has to be pulled straight up because it fits in a groove at the back of the boiler. Under the cab is a black piece of plastic that retains the motor. It also snaps into place and has to be removed to remove the shell. BE CAREFUL!! With the retainer removed, the motor is easy to pull or knock out of position. If this happens, you'll be sorry (unless you were planning on a complete disassembly). With the motor retainer off, the shell can be lifted off of the chassis.

IF YOU DO PULL THE MOTOR OUT, there are two springs that carry current from the frame halves to the motor. These springs will be released from their positions. They will not fly out (at least mine didn't) but, to get the motor back in with the springs positioned correctly, I had to completely disassemble the engine.
