I was out of the hobby for years- no basements in AZ. Finally retired, and restarted with an old plan that my dad and I and my brothers built in HO several times starting in about 1962. I have been in electronics for about 40 years. My new layout is an expansion of the Atlas Granite Gorge and Northern with additional perimeter tracks, and a large yard. I run it with 8 Arduino microcomputers to handle switches, relays, lighting, and servos. Eventually, it will run on JMRI. I use the NCE PowerCab to run up to 6 trains at a time, with 4 or 5 engines idling on sidings. The NCE unit will interface to a PC with JMRI using the NCE interface board. I have about 28 engines set up with DCC- mostly NCE and TCS, and sound with ESU units. The layout theme is a confluence of Western and Canadian railroads, with a Japanese Shinkansen just for fun.
Welcome to TrainBoard GGNnNScale!!!! Sounds like a neat plan you have there. Looking forward to hearing more about it.
Hi GGNinNScale, Welcome. I agree with KWE, please initiate a build thread in the N-Scale forum, with photos, of course. We enjoy interacting with new members who have new ideas and techniques.
