More often than not these days I wonder how I ever had time to go to work. Been retired for 22 years.
Welcome to the "Old Farts Club/Society". We don't have a club house, regular meetings, badge or Logo, but you'll know us when you see us!
Congratulations on the retirement! Many wishes for many happy years to follow, building many scale miles!
Congratulations on retiring. I asked my wife if I could convince her to retire so I could too. She wants to hold off until she is 67 in 4 years, but I am ready now. Moving to Meridian ID, have a house paid for there, and a train room waiting. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
Rick, remember that we retirees go into town only from noon Monday until noon Friday..never, never on a weekend. That's when all those poor rat-racers clog highways, shops, restaurants, etc.
My first set retirement date is February 25, 2023, when I hit 66 years, 4 months. At the least, I may go part-time in my job- at the most, I'll just hang it up. I hear retirement doesn't pay much, but some of the benefits are pretty awesome.
Congratulations, and thank you for your service I'm just hitting five years retired now, and couldn't be happier. Shopping for a new train room myself.
Congrats on the milestone! My retirement target was 2035. Actual retirement was July 2013, for serious health issues. The only problem is, I have no money, yet! Still fighting to get my much needed disability benefits! I do get by, but....
One week in (ok, basically just a long holiday weekend), but I must say, enjoying tremendously (got to miss all the typical "quarter-end" madness). Not too much train work done, just some puttering, so far. Don't want to start any major projects until after our July travels.
Another PhD? Didn't know I would be going back to grad school LOL Hank - I have actually been considering seeing if I can join the "DCC Lunch" group in Silicon Valley. I believe they get together once (maybe twice) a month. I know a bunch of the SV FreeMoN crew (along with the HO Silicon Valley Lines folks) attend
Retired!!?? That was good news at first but then. Oh gosh! Why should I go and wish you bad luck. Enjoy your retirement.
Welcome to The Other Side! My 2nd anniversary, retired, is at the end of this month. Here's a handy weekly reference calendar given to me by my Father after he'd been retired for a while: Sunday - Mom takes me to church. Saturday - [open] Saturday - [open] Saturday - [open] Saturday - [open] Saturday - [open] Saturday - [open] Enjoy!
