Here is a revised video of my unamed UP layout. It seems Youtube made some changes to the video causing it to eerily fade in and out. I pulled the original and here is the revised video without the changes. Bill http://youtu.be/OxfDnzM5DRA
Much better, nice ride indeed , the train comes to a near halt at a portal about 3 minutes in then starts up slowly were you dodging a deer ???? 'the helix stll makes me dizzy though ... could you straighten that thing out a bit ???? Am looking fwd to when you get the scenery done , what engine was pushing the photo truck ? sounded like steam but my hearing is shot . What model Looxcie cam are you using? or do they make only one model ? Way cool trip Bill . Paul
How do you like the Looxcie, overall? I keep looking at all these little cameras, and get hung up on the bipolar reviews.
RBrodzinsky, The Looxcie 2 camera is fantastic. Fits on flat car with no problem with clearences. Here's the neat part. I put the camera on the car and turn it on. I use my Ipad and access the live video. I see exactly what the camera is seeing in real time. When I'm ready I press the recoed button on the Ipad and away we go. It records in MP4 format and is easily accessed thru Windows Explorer. I walk around the layout looking at the Ipad and see what the engineer would see. Well worth the $144 I paid from J&R Electronics in NY. Look at my video and decide for yourself. Bill
Hi, That's great. I cannot get enough of that kind of layout tour. You'll have to save that video to compare with your layout in years to come. I see a SEPTA fan? Good luck, MCB
Bill, Since seeing the video this morning, I have spent most of my non-work time researching the Looxcie. One last technical question on your video, is that shot in 320p or 480p mode? I am really impressed with the overall depth of field, clarity, sound, etc. And glad you mentioned the iPad, since that would be how I would access it, too. Rick
Hi Bfagan, I rode SEPTA buses and subway years ago. I live near the Trenton line and NEC in lower Bucks. Used to live near the Fox Chase line. I model EL (DLW) though. Nice layout you have there, runs well. Thanks, MCB
