Friday I was at my favorite Train Store looking through books from a collection the store had acquired and I noticed this book that I thought some of our Rio Grande fans would enjoy. The price was considerably lower than what this site is offering: Gallagher Collection Books, ABAA, ILAB: Rio Grande Car Plans. by Wayner, Robert J. (editor). If anyone is interested in contacting the store please e-mail me.
nice find. that's for posting it, especially in consideration of the Rio Grande fans (like me). i'm going to ask around regarding it, before i commit to anything myself. thanks JC, dave f.
Dave you were one modeler I had in mind when I saw it. I have been trying to find drawings with measurements for a project I would like to attempt and Chris was kind enough to help me out. In return I thought someone might find this book helpful. I only had time to glance at the book but saw drawings for passenger and freight cars and MOW equipment. That's what I like about Z; everyone helps each other.
i have a book with most of these drawings in it, but it's not spiral bound. wondering if it's a reprint of the same things, or material new to me. thanks for the lead! dave f. (P.S. if i weren't a Rio Grande fan, i would probably be a modern CN modeler. great look and such interesting equipment and scenery. fyi).
Thanks to David's post I realized the link describes a spiral bound book. The one I saw is a paperback for under twenty dollars.
thanks jc, i have that book. i was thinking there might be a better/older/more complete version of drawings and pictures of rolling stock. it's a pretty good book, but misses some important pieces. i've tried finding drawings and dimensions of some units i'd be interested in modeling (like the snow dozer) and without the book i'd be even more at a loss. dave f.
