    Rock Island Depot:

Hello Gentlemen: I am a new member to this site.
I am a long time model railroader, and I also run a professional model making shop. I have recently begun to model the Rock Island in HO scale for a micro layout I am building.
I have had a model made of one of those “boxcar turned into depots” that the Rock Island used in a number of locations. I have collected some images from magazines , and books over the years and we used those as a guide. My model is based specifically on photos of a depot used at Vega Texas, although I did not use that place name. My current list of other locations for these depots on the Rock, includes: Mediapolis, Winfield, Westbend, Hennesy, Watonga, Mclean, Klemme, Haskell, and Hotspring.
One of my modelmakers here in the shop did the kitbash and we cast a dozen sets of castings . I kept 2 for my own use and I sold a few on the Rock Island forum site, and the rest I am offering to any Rock Island fans. The kits come partially assembled. (I’ll post images of what you get, and what it builds up to.) You just add the roof and some details and paint. There is a one page instruction. I need $50.00 per kit and whatever it costs me to ship the kit to your address. I have no plans to produce these so this is a pretty unique offer, and at a subsidized price since the $50 does not even recoup my costs. Think of it as an christmas present to Rock Island fans. Contact me at brian@promodelbuilders.com if you are interested.
