    Hey All,

I just finished my first version of a military train with modern US equipment all from Roco Minitanks. I think it turned out pretty sweet. After digging into my box of Roco from childhood I realize I have enough WWII Roco to start a second military train in all US WWII vehicles.

I have few questions and some help needed, please.

    1. What locomotives, box cars, troop cars/sleepers and flat cars would you use for the war years? [1941-1945] What I am asking here is if there are different styles of these types of cars from the war years.

    2. What railroads would you model from this time period? My current military train is mostly UP and SP. I see that Santa Fe did a lot of troop transport and am wondering what others railroads transported troops and equipment during WWII?

    3. When modeling for the war years [1941-1945] would you run a military train in steam or was diesel beginning to be more common then?

    4. Does anyone know where to get a hold of WWII US [and modern US too!] Roco Minitanks more reasonably than getting them on eBay at $10 to $20 per vehicle. The same would apply to geting my flat/box/troop cars in the WWII era. I've found a few online stores like Internet Hobbies but am looking for more online places to buy to not only rely on local train shows because they are infrequent.

    5. Any other considerations I haven't thought of from those of you who have modeled military trains?

    Thanks and blessings,
