Hey guys, I could use some advice / troubleshooting yet again. I have two R077 Rokuhan uncouplers, with the Arnold (Rapido) attachment in place. One of the uncouplers works pretty well for me, but the second has been unable to uncouple anything! I'm using a Rokuhan T002 as my locomotive and two of the Rokuhan Koki flat container cars (T007) which all come with Arnold couplers. The uncoupler that doesn't work for me seems like it just does not push the coupler up high enough to make it detach. Maybe the magnet that pushes up the uncoupler hardware is weaker? I see in the specs for the R007 uncoupler they say it is designed to use the Rokuhan A040 special coupler, sold separately. Is this something I would need? I would assume the Rokuhan cars and locomotive already have that kind of Arnold coupler installed. Or is this something even more specially designed for this track piece? Anyone else have any trouble with these uncouplers? Even the working one seems really fiddly - sometimes the engine can stall over it because the uncoupler raised up makes the rear wheels of the loco get less track contact. It isn't clear which mode of control of the uncoupler you are using manual or electrical ... try manually setting the uncoupler lever to see if you get a little extra "throw" to make the difference. Previous release information makes no mention of the A040 coupler. But they do mention to use the "long coupler to ensure smooth operation." I tried both manually and electrically. From that link you posted, I now see this: 【For Arnold coupler】 * Existing Arnold couplers which come together with Rokuhan locomotives or cars, do not suit this Uncoupler. Special Arnold coupler A040 (sold separately) is necessary. I guess this answers my problems?
Wow, I didn't even read my own link. Yes, you absolutely need the A040. Thanks for pointing this out.
