For anyone in or near the Portland metro area, the Rose City Garden Railway Society is having its annual summer tour on June 19, 2010. I have no direct affiliation with them, but I have gone on three of the last four annual tours and I can say that this is a well-staged event. The "ticket" is a booklet describing briefly each railway and giving directions. There are usually between 8 and 12. Most of them are outdoors, although there have been a few indoor ones. With my kids, I usually pick out 6 or 7 and just go for it. The one booklet gets a carload into the event. You just carry it with you and show it if someone asks. I will, unfortunately, be out of town this time, but since the bulk of this is Gauge #1 I thought it might be of interest here. Adam
