I have been told by numerous people in person and ver the internet that Watco is buying/bought the Cowen Sub from Grafton south to Cowen.........Will be named the Appalachian and Ohio Railroad. Maybe there will actually be something different than AC's hauling coal, now.
Actually it is a lease from CSX.....looks like most of it will be based out here in Buckhannon. I Applied for a job, I won't get it , but atleast I put my name in the hat, hehe.
Pat- Just curious- Why wouldn't you get the job? Are there that many other applicants? A lot of folks needing work in your area? Keep trying! Meanwhile, maybe we can look forward to some action updates? Photos? Boxcab E50
well, I'm inexperienced. I doubt that they want to hire some 19 year old redneck who happened to walk down out of the "holler" and is lookign for a job. What about the Guys who worked this same line for CSX? Some of the (few) younger guys can afford to give up what little seniority they do have from CSX. I'd like to work but I have college too, so unless I can do an internship option for atleast another year (to finish an A.S.)....I might have to pick college for future employment or pick the railroad and hope I don't get laid off.
Now's the time to keep trying. Gentle pestering? I don't know if you'll be taking courses over the summer. But the warmer days often bring infrastructure maintenance. And they may need extra help. It would be a start. Boxcab E50
