Sandro is a new member here and has a good web site, with pics, vids, and pics of his layout. I originaly invited those in the HO forum to check out his layout before I realized he is an N're (kind of like an inner versus an outer).

You can find his link in his posts, but he has one in the CN forum and another in the CP forum. Well worth your time.

    Sandro,
On your web site, either I missed it, but if not, you might want to give us some details about your layout in written form, like scale etc, area modeled, I am suspecting some of it is in British Columbia, etc. Nevertheless, well done!

I'm not sure if I have done this right, but I am attempting to add Sandro's web site.

thank you very much for your words ! I'm glad you liked my page and my layout. As you correctly guessed my layout could be somewhere in the Canadian Rockies. How come that a Swiss guy models CN and CP ? Well, my parents live in Clearwater BC and therefore most of my holidays I spend in Canada using Clearwater as my starting point. So far I traveled more than 100'000km throughout North America. I especially like the train action in the rugged mountains. Huge forests, deep canyons, nice little towns and of course trains.

You're right I should add much more infos about my layout. I'll do it soon. Also I'll post more pics of my layout. Just a few :

    - more than 4000 trees
    - Peco code 55
    - 3% maximum grade
    - 13" minimum curves
    - 3 independent loops
    - 6 modules 100x150cm, 1 module 107x100cm
    - box construction (pics will follow on my page)
    - if I take care I can walk in the river bed. The layout is strong enough to hold my 95kilos....

    have fun

Good job, Sandro, keep us updated on your layout and website progress.

Good to see someone from Switzerland modelling north American railroads [IMG] Lots of people all over the world love to model Swiss trains. I had an SBB HO layout several years ago [IMG] But I finally settled on US N scale :D

    Sandro,

Your layout is amazing and those trees really set it off. How did you make those trees?

Do you mind if I post some of your pictures to this topic?

Thought I'd try to post some pics from his gallery just to wet your appetite. This looks like a very nice railroad.

    Sandro,
Visually I like your home page, but the lack of info leaves something to be desired. If I didn't know it, I wouldn't know what was in your web site.

Maybe a more comprehensive list like:

    N Scale Layout
Pics of CN, CP, BC Rail, etc

etc, etc You get the idea. When I went to your site I almost left it because I thought I might have to search around to find your layout, which I kinda had to do. I like your site a lot, I think you depriving people a chance to see what you have. Most of us when we get to the home page want to know what is inside without bouncing around too much.

Don't let my criticism take away from your quality work, or I wouldn't have put the post here like I have.

thanks guys ! I'll keep on updating my layout and my homepage. Also I'll ad some drawings on how I constructed my layout. Just be patient

    Rick
I don't take it as criticism. You're giving me good hints and a different point of view. It's my first homepage and I'm still learning. You're right about adding more infos on the main page. But on the other side take a look at this forum. There's simply to much different things displayed at once. It's hard to find the interesting things. I don't want to overfill my pages. But I'll think about what you said.

I didn't make all those trees by myself. Just bought some 50-trees-packs from Heki. There are different heights (7-15cm) in one bag.

Except a few fall colored trees are done by myself using small branches from real trees and some Woodlands foliage

    Sandro,
Your site and your pics are very enjoyable. The shots of that CN train remind me of home. Home being British Columbia. I miss the rocky mountains and you have captured the terrain and landscape so well. I know that when I miss home I'll just come and check out the new photos. Thanks for sharing it with us.
