I want to model a scene based more or less on Galveston, Texas. I cannot find a photo of the Santa Fe freight house. A map of port-related facilities in a 1976 Port of Galveston annual report shows the Santa Fe freight station at Mechanic and 30th streets, about 3 blocks west of the passenger station. A Sanborn's insurance map shows the outline plan of a freight station at that location with a fairly short-length 2-story office section, and a long long 1-story shed with loading doors and platforms.

Anybody know what it looked like?
The outline in the Sanborn's map would more or less match this ATSF freight house at San Angelo...

An ex-Santa Fe station at Beaumont was restored and converted to a law office. I remember it as having a 2-story section that may have been rr offices, and a one story longer section. My photo doesn't show that part, just the 2-story portion. Anyone know if the Galveston freight house looked like this?

Fort Worth had a long two-story brick freight house. I snapped a poor view on my way through Ft.Worth in 1994.

Russell Straw has a much better cleaner image in his album, taken I believe after it was converted to some kind of tourist or entertainment venue.

From his photo, and another railimages photo I found on google but couldn't open (maybe it was on the "old" railimages), I see that my Bar Mills Santa Fe roof sign would look a lot better on the flat roof of a freight house office section than on the Galveston passenger station.

I am considering bashing the Walthers Water Street freight terminal to try to "suggest"/(approximate?) a suitable Santa Fe freight house.
