Well, I just could not turn down a brand new, in the box 2-8-2 Mikado from BLI with DCC & Sound (QSI). That it is a heavy and a Wabash did not seem to matter for the wonderful price I got it for. SO here is my question and request.

1 - Did Santa Fe have heavy mikes?
2 - What number range should I use regarless of heavy or light?
3 - Does someone have a good picture(s) they could post of a prototype so I can take a hand at ruining the nice paint on this model?

So you know, I am the kind of guy that puts corvette motors in Fords, so I'll probably not be counting many rivets or anything else.

Thanks and as always I appreciate your help!

The Santa Fe had 308 2-8-2 Mikados in seven different classes. None were built to the USRA Heavy design. The 4000 Class Mikados were similar in size and ratings. Most had an extra sand some added soon after arriving from Baldwin. Engines 4070-4085 were coal burners, the rest 4000-4069 and 4086-4100 were oil. Some locomotives had tenders with 12,000 gallons water and some were 15,000. All tenders rode on six wheel Commonwealth trucks.
