    Howdy,

Anybody like to express an opinion on the WS Scenic Ridge vs the Terrain for Trains High Sierra layouts?

Each has its' pros and cons; I'm interested in views from the board.

Expansion is always a dream/goal, but each layout should be able to stand on its' own until then.

    Thanx,
    Rick

    Satokuma,

Your layout (and other) pics look great. How much progress have you made?

I see you're from Tualatin. I live in Beaverton. If I might be so bold, do you think we could arrange a layout tour at your convenience?

    Hi, Frisco,

I would recommend the Woodland Scenics, as the outcome probably will look better, and the skills you'll learn will be much stronger. Hard to go wrong.

High Sierra is more limited in that you can't change anything about the way the landform is laid out; and you'll miss developing useful model railroad skills like forming a hard shell, working with plasters, arranging track on the base, etc.

That having been said, there is one person over on the Atlas N scale Forum, who has done a good job on the Terrain for Trains, so it can be done.
