I'm scratch building some caissons' for my dad's and my layout. I've taken the liberty of making real wooden coffin's to place on top the caisson with flags draped over them (I know this isn't a good effect but it's the reality of the world). As soon as I get a camera I'll take some snapshots and place them on here.

The caisson is from an Imex Civil War cannon kit modified from a cannon to look like a caisson.

I've never done any in HO, but I have built many artillery pieces and caissons from scratch in larger scales.
We have the field artillery center of the US Army near here at Ft. Sill (Lawton, Ok), and they have several display pieces, plus a ton of research material.
I am currently working on a functional scale model of a Civil War- era Parrot Gun, hopefully by the 4th of July.
    Side hobby.

Whoa! That's cool! Have you built any Civil War items, say like a miniture Enfield or Springfield rifle?

Hope you get your little cannon finished, would love to see it!
