Took my 23 month old daughter who is likes "choo choo trains" out by Charlotte terminal to see if anything was moving. We saw a SD70m-2 seemingly being used as a switch engine. This seemed kind of strange to me but that is what it looked like. Anybody else seen anything like this?

Maybe some "field instruction" was going on, giving engineers, hoslters and mechanical crews a chance to run it, getting a feel for its characteristics!!!

NS will use whats available, perhaps a road train set it of there to be used for a following train, so in the meantime it does get used as a switcher. Or perhaps it was the road crew making up it's own train, Clevelands Maple Heights intermodal yard is like that. Road crews make pick ups and set off with their power.

I have seen anything from SW1500's to D9-40CW's switching the yard or running locals in the Carolinas... It is always interesting!

I caught a pair of new SD70M-2's and an SD60 on a "local" yesterday!
