The long awaited SD80/90s have just been announced on the Kato website. That means let the race for orders begin! The best price I can find right now is about $94.50 each! Can anyone do any better? They have said that the pick ups will be "wired". Guess they learned a lesson? I see a UP in my future I hope!!! It will look real good if I can get it to go with the new SD70m from Athearn. [IMG]

    BNSF,
Even tho I'm a HUGE steam buff. I might just invest in a SD-80MAC for my CSX fleet thats up and growing... :D And at the price you posted. You can't go wrong! And Kato to boot! I just may invest in one!

Try toytrainheaven.com and they even have an 800 number if you want. I just wish I had enough money to buy the conrail, but I chose to pre-order the sd70m with flags instead. I hate choices sometimes!

Man I'll agree I hate choices too in the hobby world. Its so hard sometimes.. I know... The only way I won't order one is if I can get an Allegheny with the present budget or... If a Brass EM-1 comes my way with the right price. Which I doubt will happen but anythings possible.. But I will one day have both steamers! HA :D I have the EM-1 times 5 so.. But those are my own custom work. I would still like to get one in brass just to look at! HA Being so expensive and detailed to the 9's... I'd be afraide to run it. And yes I have ran the Allegheny... But a brass loco!!! HA HA It would be like my pride and joy! so... :D

    Oh Boy, the choices!

Today, i had the choice of picking up two Athearn Genesis at retail price and getting 12 50 fot SF Steam era boxcar free...all genesis. But then, I have decided to save my money for a more deserving project. You see I have my baby in the shop right now, and when she gets out she will look really nice thanks to a talented Doctor here at trainboard...too bad she won't have those twelve Boxcars behind her!.

But thats all right. And if anybody wishes to convince me to buy two 2-8-2s from Genesis in SF paint, be my guest.

Is there good resale on the SF version of the Athearn Genesis Mikado?

    Thanks.

Benny, I saw pictures of the box cars that come with the Genesis SF Mikes, and they do not seem to be of the Genesis line. With the giant roof walks, and "bear claws" on the doors, they appear to belong to the regular Athearn line.
