SD90s and 60s: Here they come!!!!!

Well, I have talked to my sources and can say with reasonable certainty that Proto is doing the SD60Ms---Should be a notice on Walthers site soon. All western roads no CSX or CR on the first run.

I can also say that Kato is about to release the details about their long awaited SD90macs. My source said "soon".

I can't wait. Now I can get a 3 window BN and get a SD90 in UP. I am dying with anticipation.!!!

 

Is Kato also planning to do an AMTK. Genesis unit like they are in N scale??

No, probably won't do the Genesis unit. They are taking a while to get their HO engines out anyway, and Athearn already makes one.

 

yay, the SD90MACs are coming soon.
Hopefully they will be the H version.
I was also pleasantly suprised bnsf that the Atlas 8-BW is out in heritage BNSF colors, looked really good at the hobby store.

They do look good don't they!! I can't wait for these new ones. I think I will be getting the BN flavor though since I have so many H2s that it is actually kinda boring. The Oakways etc help with that, but those white cheek 60Ms will really add some great color to my motive power group.

I too hope that the SD90s are the Hs, but they will probably be big versions of the N scale products. Actually I wouldn't mind getting a Phase 2 version, but I guess that will be a conversion effort for now. I just hope these things are affordable.

 

Bit more info on the 60M's, Lifelike has posted a page to it's website on them (see below, quite remarkable as they usually take forever to add to the site!), looks like it's 3 the window cab only on this run, with BN, BNSF H2, SOO and UP and they reckon it will be out in June.

Actually I'm hoping they don't change the gearing, I want a BN one to head up my coal train with the Oakway I've already got. Changing the gearing again would really stuff that up
