    Hi Everyone,

Been a looong time since I've posted here, but I wanted to share that I've just released a Pullman 14-Section Tourist Sleeper (Plan 4061C) on my Shapeways shop. It's taken a long time to develop, but I finally have a design that compensates for the layering issues, and has some very nice looking detail. This model is specific for assignment to the Santa Fe, but should look good in any train. Take a look and let me know what you think!

How do you get that beautiful detail including rivets? I thought that 3D layering gave us lots of layers that needed to be sanded to get a smooth finish.

It depends on the print orientation - the best results are when the details are on the top side of the print. This avoids issues with removing support material, and the sides are also "in plane" with the layers. You can still see the layering on the underframe details, but typically this will be out of view - seemed an acceptable compromise.

Justlegg, That is a helpful explanation. The side detail is amazing and the underside is hard to see, great job!

Well, if you were to decide to do a

    10-1-1, Pullman Plan 3973-A or a

    8-1-2, Pullman Plan 3979-A, or a

    8-1-3, Pullman Plan 4090,

I’m pretty sure that I would get one of each.

    You do very nice work.
