Sure has been quiet around here. Same on the other Soo Line spots on the net. I know what gats has been up to but what about everyone else? Justin May sent me some sweet SOO shots of red and white units in 2001. - Maybe he would not mind if I posted 'em up here? If you havn't been to Graham Stockfeld's Soo Line Photo Archive in a while be sure to go - he's got lots of new photos (check out the what's new page) I broke ground on my next loco (SD40-2 768) from a "new" style Athearn shell - cut off the nose getting it prepped for the Cannon 81" nose. I'm thinking about doing the Full-Cannon-Jacket with a cab and sub base but haven't yet decided - this is my first go with Cannon parts. I started with a SOO decorated shell (I ordered it before I saw it in person because the "SOO" looked to be correct in the photos on Athearn's web site - it is, but Athearn sill uses WHITE so I am repainting it - the stripping is taking a while cuz Athearn really laid the paint on think on this shell.) - next time - undecorated gats - I'm gonna need my SD40/40-2 Soo Line issues SOOn so I can make sure I get the tank cut in the right spot. Have you copied what you needed? Next weekend would be OK.
Hi Rob, it's not just the SOO Line forums, clubs and groups that are quiet, it seems to be almost all. Maybe the summertime outdoors activities? The thread that provided the most responses on one group had to do with a virus, not railroading! Take care, Bill
With 3 weeks of summer, I'd be out there, too! Rob, I'll give you a call during the week to arrange a time to get them back to you. Have you the latest issue of the SOO? Gary.
yup - I have the summer issue and if you want to read it you can, I just have to figure out where I put it
Here's another great Soo Line photo archive / roster (if I don't say so myself ): The Unofficial Soo Line Diesel Archive Your contributions are much welcome!
