What color ballast should i use for the sholders on roads and what glue should i use to glue it on? thx.
hmmm i've wondered the same thing... I used the finest Woodland Scenics ballast and applied the same as if I was putting it on trackwork. I painted it the same color as the roadway, I guess it would depend on how the roadway was constructed. I painted the road and the shoulder ballast a very dark black w/acrylics, it would represent very new asphalt. Here's a pic...I think I might repaint it lighter and maybe shave of the shoulder ballast a little. I'd like to hear how other people did it also...
