I build a 95R oval on a O scale rooftop using Rokuhan track. I am looking for some real short Z cars to seat some N scale riders. 40 % of the track hangs over the side so I Dremeled out a oval support ring. Will post pictures when done. The Rokuhan diesel works fine so I just need a little help with Rokuhan coupler compatible cars. Appreciatively, Bigtrainguy
Aren't there a couple of Casino-Hotel roller coasters that hang over the side by about 50%? assuming that Rokuhan didn't have rolling stock that suited you, you might want to change the coupler on the loco and use some of the Märklin 2-axle cars. Cars like: 8610,8622, 82322 and 82331 should meet your need. Hopes this helps, Mark
Thanks Mark, I found Marklin 8610 online. Do you know of any short illuminated (passenger or other??) cars. Then I would get the "train floating thru the sky effect" with lights dimmed. I never have found a bobber caboose. Thanks for the help. Chris
to fit on that radius look at ztrack and for cars under Tenshodo brand, they will be 2 axle cars and there is a open gondola and a flat car plus others, Rokuhan has some 4 axle cars that might work again look at ztrack web site for what they have in stock.
RS Laser kits makes a Z scale 24' flat car or gondola kit. You just need to build and add trucks. That is about as short as it gets. It is about 1.3 inches. Trey
Rokuhan T005-1, T005-2, T005-3 are available. These are 4-axles and have removable coal or limestone loads. They are equipped with Rokuhan's rapido-type coupler. The cars are 41mm long and you get 2 to a pack. We also have Marklin 8610s ... 2 in used condition with new metal Marklin wheelsets and about 10 in C-10 brand new mint condition with C-10 jewel boxes. 8610 is 54mm long. Also have Marklin 8624 2-axle in C-6 "good" used condition (new metal wheelsets) which is 33mm long. Another car we have in used condition is the Marklin 8609 2-axle baggage car and is 40mm long. Illumination AND short? None that I know of. Rokuhan T006 passenger series are an amazing bargain and can be lit with the A009 Rokuhan interior lighting. But these are 10cm long cars.
