Did you email me at support@railimages.com I'm at work at the moment but will fix it up when I get home
Gary (Norco) dropped into my letterbox an article on modelling MOPAC by Prototype Modeller Magazine. It has some great info and will be really helpful in this project. Thanks Gary much appreciated
I was reading today that MOPAC actually had GP50's delivered in the MOPAC jenks blue livery only to have it repainted into UP colours ten weeks later, could be an interesting one to model. If I recall Kato brought out a GP50 is that correct?
Yep,but most run good some not so good! You have a couple dont you Paul?UP paint?Another re-paint candidate?
The RGW has connections with MP at Pueblo and here asre a few shots of a MOPAC train just outside of Pueblo.
John, Shades of the Colorado Eagle?Beaut looking paint there,I know someone that will be very appreciative of this pass. train! Is that one of the single engine E units they had? BTW how much are those new John Deere tractors going for?do you deliver?& what attachments can I get with it?
Today Flash Blackman visited for an operating session and delivered two MOPAC SD50's for me. Here are the pics
Paul: Canaries? At least it keeps the name alive. John: What brand are those passenger cars? I currently have 2 completed and 2 in progress from Marshall Shops; very time consuming projects, but very nice looking cars.
THe passenger cars are just stock Con-Cor passenger cars and the E-8 is a Life-Like. I have acquired a little MP equipment because of the "connection" with the RGW. The John Deere tractors are Atherns'
Now that I can get back to RailImages (thanks Paul!) here goes: An SD40-2c on the head of a coal train returning from the Powder River basin. This loco is a favorite of mine as it has a Richmond Controls module which gives constant headlights and a working beacon. Always gets noticed at shows. A dining car which has become stranded somehow. This is one of the four cars I currently have fom Marshall Shops - look great but take a lot of time. John, that's why I asked about yours. Finally, a Colorado rancher recovered an old ART reefer which now serves him well as a storage shed. [ 27. September 2004, 02:35: Message edited by: Eagle2 ]
Wow that working beacon must look impressive, that sd40-2 is similar to my next project although I might take some licence and have the large screaming eagle on the side. Here are the MOPAC SD50's posted earlier after they were weathered with chalk today [ 27. September 2004, 03:16: Message edited by: Colonel ]
I know you would like nothing more than to do that but I do want some canary mopacs lol. Oh while chatting too Greg (soo_mlw_cnw) he suggested the handrails needed painting which I totally agreed so here is the finished result.
Yeah that is right. LOL I flew down to AUS and held a real big gun to Paul's head till he finished. Boy he made me sound like a slave driver,LMAO adios fer now Wyatt
Paul: You could strip them and paint them Jenks blue! I had never thought about that before, but they sure would look nice like that.
Well the fact MP never had them in Jenks blue, I guess I could take some artistic licence and paint them anyway No I dont mind these canaries especially now they are weathered and they look better with the painted handrails (thanks Greg) Jerry, Thanks for posting the pics those MOPAC passenger cars ssure look nice.
