I should not go to hobby shops!!!! Purchased this little gem yesterday in Oklanoma City: BNSF GP 60M from Fox Valley, it is DCC ready. However, It has detail to rival Atlas things get lost in the translation. The handrails are too brittle as evidenced below. These mishaps happened when I opened it up to install a decoder. The side handrail was damaged while reassembling the locomotive. If you look at the firemans side you will not see a white rail, that one broke as I was laying it on the table. Over all the rails are way more brittle than Athearn or Atlas. It is a very well detailed model though. I wanted to add these to my fleet for a while. So here she is in lash-up with my Dash 8-40 BW units from Atlas.
Nice lash up! As for the handrails... I think we have ALL been there. The one IM loco I own has fragile handrails... They look great, but sometimes have me wishing for the old metal ones from Athearn BB's. JMS
I have a decoder on the way, the board uses a 6 in or the 21 pin decoders to work. I ordered a Digitrax 6 pin for this one. As soon as I install it I plan to drill out the stantions and use brass wire to mend it. I will also paint the front rail white. Hopefully I will have her over at the club Saturday morning for her maiden voyage. I will probably install a hand rail kit to beef them up.
Just got the Broadway Limited Plymouth which is pretty darn close to the 35-tonner used on the Pacific Electric Orphan Branch I am modeling. Got the all black unit and made my own PE decals to get a close proximity. Details to follow include canvas sun shades and changing out the exhaust pipes for the later versions that better matched the proto.

I have boxes of cars and I am planning on a small car show including a monster truck and a nascar car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Anything in particular you are looking for? I went through my stash and found these three to be extra or doubles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
The '78 and the '72 would fit nicely. Depends on price incl. shipping. When buying off ebay or US stores the shipping costs quoted are astronomical sometimes! Actually, I guess that '55 Chevy Bel Air would go with my '57 one!
Looks like you scored Dale, I have never seen the Fox Valley GP60 before. Man I need to get to a hobby shop in this decade. Or maybe not LOL!
