Showcase Miniatures has announced the return of the 1950s era GMC garbage truck! My reference book for this one is a little vague, but I think the prototype was introduced as a 1948 model, and continued in production through the 1954 model year.

It is SKU #36, and now includes a vacuum shaped windshield, wheels cast separately from the chassis, and a cast resin cab.

I hope they shrink it to Z. I am very pleased with Showcase Miniatures vehicles and details, their castings are always so clean and precise. No bubbles or melted distorted lumpies.

I believe what you said rray! they have some fine pieces in Z scale I have been after them for a while to do more Z but it's like pulling teeth. I have all the Z scale trucks and building! I like the logging trucks the most! I just wish the 3D printing would get better! I did two different garbage trucks both with moving parts!

Those are some mighty fine people at Showcase Miniatures. I love their kits, structures and locos.
