I want to put in a sidewalk in my new town, and was wondering who made some good scale sidewalk? I don't want to build up my own, just rip some out of styrene that already has the expansions cracks in it. Yes, I'm lazy. Pete
Pete, as Gordon states, Evergreen has sidewalk and tile patterned styrene sheet that may fit the bill for representing sidewalks in N. A quick search found this site. Check for details - http://www.dhcinc.com/evergreen.htm Gary.
I have used a cast resin sidewalk system. I think it was made by Fine N Scale or somthing like that. It was great stuff. There were long pieces that included curb and gutters, with storm drain castings and everything. There were different sized driveway pieces and different sized corners. The only place that I have seen it before was at Trackside Trains in Burlingame CA where I bought my materal. I think I still have a pack or two laying around. I will check later on the correct name of the mfg. Brian
I use the Evergreen styrene material for sidewalks. This stuff comes in small squares, measuring about 4-5 feet in N-Scale. I paint two coats of Polly Scale Old Concrete. I use 3 mm foam for streets, after painting the street, the sidewalks are attached to the streets with tacky glue. The added thickness of the sidewalk makes decent curbs, if your sidewalks go all the way to the street. Jeff Augsburg & Concord R.R. OK, Brian, I'm dyin' over here! What's the name of that stuff, and where can I get it?? Sounds great. Pete
I got off my lazy butt and found the stuff. You were right Brian, it's made by Fine N-Scale and Rio Grande Hobbies www.4nscale.com has it. Thanks everybody. I'll post the results after I try it.
